OK, but which to use for images?

Re: <DIV> and <SPAN>
To have a single image that u can put anywhere on
your page, use <div><img /></div>. But, AFAIK,
it will work without <div>, too, just use <img />
without any container. Once I read this would work
with NN and MSIE. Does anyone know if it does?
