    Hi,

If Karl's solution does not help you or you do not have VB4 as he mentioned,
I can send you a small tool that monitors all resources, memory pools,
virtual memory and page file information. IT works under Win9x and WinME
but is not for NT or Win2K since they do not use the same memory management
    engine.

check out www.mvps.org/vbnet. they have a sample that uses GlobalMemoryStatus
    in kernel32

If you're looking for percent of resource heaps available in 9x, you're hosed then,
unless Todd's tool works out. That's only accessible from 16-bit code.

    Re: get memory status

    Hi,

The tool I have does that as well. It will show you percent used and free.
Another user needed some code for this as well. This next week I am going
to dig through our archives for some code I know we have and send it out.
Drop me an email if you want to be included in that send.

For those that have requested the resource meter tool, the file will be sent
in the next day or so. I have been swamped lately (thus I am writing this
at 3:22am) but I will have it out Monday or Tuesday to everyone that
    requested it. ;-)

    Hi Todd --

How are you getting that info, if not by thunking to 16-bit calls?

    Karl,

I will ask Si (one of my partners) about that.. He wrote the code. I am
only passing it along myself but I suppose I should take a look see for
myself! ;-) He wrote it about 4 weeks ago for our internal use on Win9x
and ME systems and I have to admit it works dam good. In fact it is so
useful that we are sending it out to anyone that wants a copy of the tool.
I will ask him if he is willing to send you a copy of the source for it if
you like. I do not think we are using any of that source in anything of
commercial or proprietary interest but I need to ask him first being that it
    is his code.

    Hi Todd --

Well, to be clear, I was clear the first time. <g> I really just wanted to know how
you could obtain the 16-bit resource heap stats, without thunking to 16-bit code. If
the easiest way to explain that is with the source, cool. I can live with that. :-)

    Thanks... Karl
