    Entering data through a scanner

    Hi,
I am working on VB6. I was wondering if any of u could help me on,
how to fill a field in a form through a scanner, like the ones they use
    in super market.
my requirement is, if a customer purchases an item, and the client scans
it,it needs to populate a particular field in my form.
    ANy help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Raj

    Raj,

Do you have a scanner now or are you just at the research phase? Are you
just entering text into the fields, or are you scanning barcodes?

If you already have a scanner, talk to the manufacturer to see if they have
an SDK for Visual Basic. If you don't have the scanner already, try to get
one that plugs into the keyboard port. That way the scanner practically
acts like the keyboard and your program wouldn't need to do anything
    particularly special.
