Looking for suggestions on a new web app
Hi, there,
I am trying to put our 3D robot vision guidance and positioning system onto
the internet. Suppose a remote user pick an object from the image, the laser
beam will light up that object and the robot will appoarch and work on that
object.
All the user input is the coordinate on the image. The system has to feed
realtime image to the user while the laser finds the orientation and position
of the object and the robot approaches it.
I am totally new to internet or Java programming. But I know Visual C++ pretty
well. What do I need to learn? What is the simplest way to achieve it?
Thanks.

Re: Looking for suggestions on a new web app
You should learn HTML and JavaScript. And since you are planning on recieving
user input you should probably learn ASP (Active Server Pages) and/or JSP
(Java Server Pages) and another thing you could learn is CGI scripting, which
can be done using languages like Perl, JavaScript, C++...etc
to learn ASP or JSP just type those words in any search engine and you'll
find a lot of info. that goes for HTML as well
Some Links to check out:
1.http://www.jmarshall.com/easy/cgi/ (for the CGI basics)
2.http://www.webdevelopersjournal.com/hubs/prophub.html (a whole lot of
links)
Good Luck
