Frames and Flash style buttons?????
Dear friends,
I was wondering if you could help me out here, I am trying to use buttons
through dreamweaver 4.0 . Anyhow the button will not work in a frame,,my
target="right" but for some reason it does not work. Can I NOT use a flash
button .swf for direction throughout my page,
If I click the button I would like it to work like an < A Href about.html
file> Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance,
Brad Isaacs
below is my code and it opens the .html file up but in a NEW window and not
in the window that has the target specified to "right"....any ideas??
My Frames code:
<html>
<head>
<title>Welcome</title>
<!--External Style -->
<LINK REL=stylesheet TYPE="text/css" HREF="TextStyles.css">
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
defaultStatus = "To resize the Main window, simply drag frame borders."
// -->
</script>
<FRAMESET ROWS="75,*" NORESIZE>
<FRAME NAME= "PictureTitle" SRC="Welcome.html" NORESIZE SCROLLING= "no">
<FRAMESET COLS="130,*">
<FRAME NAME= "NavigationButtons" SRC="Nav.html" SCROLLING= "no">
<FRAME NAME= "right" SRC="Main.html" SCROLLING= "yes">
<NOFRAMES>
<!--If the browser does not support frames then let the user
know and display the link in order to download IE 5 -->
<P>This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't
support them.</P>

<A HREF = "http://www.microsoft.com/">Microsoft
Web-Site</A></P>
</NOFRAMES>
</FRAMESET>
</html>
******************************************************************
THIS IS THE CODE that does function properlly,,,any reasons why I cannot
get the button to work well,,see the button when pressed does open the right
file .html file BUT , it will not open it in the specified target="right",,instead
it opens the file in the same place as the Nav buttons are located,,any reasons
why this occurs??
Perhaps I have not got the right param names ?????? The reason I ask this
is this,, my Email button works fine,,,all the buttons work great but there
is the problem of them opening up in either a nEW window or opening up in
the same window where they are originally and I do not want this to occur,,,what
I would like is to have the .html files to open up into the window >> frame
name "right" SRC="main.html" but it will not work.
Any ideas???
My Nav code:
