    NT Services and COM

    Hi All,
I've made a Active X EXE into a service. Everything aspect of the of
the service works except for the most important part, it doesn't interact
with the client correctly. When I use my client application to access the
service another instance of the service is started. From this point on if a
request is made from the client application then the non-service version of
my application. This has been frustrating as I've been looking for the
answer for a while now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you create the service in VB? If so, it has a pronounced tendency to
loose it "OLEness" when running as a service, leading to the situation you
describe. Using Desaware's expensive but good Services Toolkit is a good
alternative if this is the case.
