Cost of Web Page Design
Can anyone give me some guidelines/pointers on how to cost web page/site design.
Is this best done by page charge, by hour etc, and would you split down html
and asp authoring seperately. Also what would be deemed reasonable rates.
Thanks for any help

Re: Cost of Web Page Design
Usually clients want an itemized bill for what they're getting, not just a
huge bill with astronomical hours worked.
You can itemize the bill in the following ways: graphic design, logos, photos,
html coding, asp, database design etc. Obviously building a database is the
most time consuming and the most difficult, so it will also probably be the
most expensive.
$100 and hour is acceptable in the US, but you may want to adjust this rate
depending on your client and whether you are freelancing or not.

Re: Cost of Web Page Design
Usually clients want an itemized bill so they can dispute the charges and
chizel you on the bill.
Do not fall into that trap. Go to http://www.brennerbooks.com for their pricing
guide for web design.
The book is $33.00 and when you go to court because the ******* won't make
his final payment you have an independent third party reference that will
stand up in court.
Hope you get this one.

Re: Cost of Web Page Design
hi
My first freelance design opportunity was for a local
carrer opps site and i charged by the page initially and then
for different formats that where in the page like asp/java/ and such by the
hours it took me to develop them, but after i wazs done before i uploaded
i got a quote from an isp that offered
site building and as much as i charged it was not even close to what they
would have charged...so i called back and asked how they went about charging
and all they would tell me is there designer makes an hourly wage plus bonus.
thats all i know man(^:
