    Does microsoft XML-enable the whole environment so developers can work with
    XML inside their Visual Basic tools.

    I would guess that is one bet that is certain. The next version of VB
    will have many XML capabilities exposed directly, and hidden behind
    the scenes.

    That said, you can do your XML work today. Use the MS XML parser to
    generate and read XML data.
