    Them:

    From: "Phil Weber" <pweber@teleport.com>
Subject: ATTN: This newsgroup is closing!
    Date: Thursday, March 09, 2000 3:37 AM

On March 15, 2000, this newsgroup will be set to read-only. You'll
still be able to read the messages here, but you will no longer be
able to post new messages or reply to existing ones.

Why? Because this group has outlived its usefulness. It was originally
created as a forum for discussing the new features in VB6. Now that
VB6 has been around for nearly two years, there are no longer any
"new" features. VB6 issues can and should be discussed in the other
VB newsgroups: ADO questions (including those relating to VB6's Data-
Environment and DataReport Designers and data-bound controls) should
be posted to vb.database.ado; general VB6 questions may be posted to
    the vb.general newsgroup.

We have started a new newsgroup -- vb.vb7 -- for discussion of new
features in VB7 (or whatever they end up calling the next release of
VB). Since the next version of VB is reportedly at least a year away
and will have many new features, we expect the new group to be
viable for at least that long.

Thanks to all of you for helping to make the DevX newsgroups among
    the best on the 'Net!
