[ARTICLE] Building a maintainable web site
We have just published part 1 of the article series "Behind the scenes of
the CodeMages Community", titled "Building a maintainable web site" on the
CodeMages Community web site. In this article CodeMage explains that building
a web site is much more than creating something attractive and original.
Creating a maintainable web site is more important than anything else and
you only need to keep a few guidelines in mind to produce a maintainable
In the first article of the series, CodeMage shows that the key to maintainability
is to separate site layout/style and site content as much as possible. The
benefits of doing so and the disadvantages of NOT doing so are discussed.
In the next few articles the guidelines and concepts outlined in this first
article will be illustrated with actual examples from the web design process
of the CodeMages Community web site itself.
