Excel VBA Reference Error - Object Library not registered

When I'm in VBE and try to add Reference items via Tools menu, I get an error
stating "Object Library not registered" as soon as I click on Reference.
    I haven't had any luck solving problem using MS's Knowledgebase. It's a
corporate PC with a standard corporate load and if I can't solve the Object
library problem, the entire machine will have to have the image laid back
down (corporate IT doesn't allow deinstallation and reinstallation of MS
Office, it's the entire load or nothing). Then I would have load all my
other software and personal configuration and that is a big headache. Any
suggestions on a fix(short of wiping the whole PC).
    Appreciate any help.

    Thanks, John

Have you tried unchecking all the libraries in the project and then, one by one, re-adding them?

If there are any libraries used by your project that cannot be found, they should be listed as
    missing in the References dialog.
