Recommendations

Hello, previously I've played around with Visual C++ 5, and a little borland
c++.. Got into Turbo Pascal, and Delphi.. and now I have Visual C++ 6.0 and
am looking to start doing some serious learning and programming. Currently
I have the Tech yourself Visual C++ 6 in 21 days.. does anybody have any
recommendations on any websites and/or books to get started with.

Try
"MFC programming" by Jeff Prosise (nice one for starters)
If you need WIN32 API then "Windows Programming" by Charles petzold.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Deitel book to be published. It's coming
out in January. They put out a short book on MFC currently available. I got
Delphi too and find it rather difficult, but any compiler put out by Borland
is more difficult since it doesn't have the documentation to refer to like
Microsoft does.
