I've been trying to print a 32-bit DirectDraw surface after obtaining the
HDC. Without attempting to change any printer settings, the quality of the
print is horrible. It seems like the dithering method is very coarse. I
tried using the dialog box mechanism (PRINTDLG) as well as the manual DocumentProperties
function and none of graphic settings (dithering - none, coarse, fine, line
art, and error diffusion) produce a decent enough print-out. With dithering
set to none, the image is purely black and white (no grayscale). Sending
the job to a color printer produces patches of solid colors with no gradiants
or color scales.
Any ideas out there?
I feel like I am missing something trivial yet crucial,
