    Can we communicate with database with C/C++ using ODBC


    Dear All

    Can we communicate with database with C/C++ application using ODBC complient
    databases e.g oracle, informix and etc

    it depends on the platform you're using. On Windows, you can certainly
    use ODBC (although you might want to use the vendor's native APIs, if
    available, because this is usually the most efficient access method).
    Under Linux, ODBC isn't supported as far as I know. There have been
    several still born projects that attempted to port ODBC to Linux but
    they were abandoned for unknown reasons.

    you can start by looking for info about ODBC on MSDN. A quick search on
    google might also help. Finally, check out the sites of informix etc.
    They usually have dedicated discussions and articles about their
    products so you might find more info about ODBC there.
