    Hello,

    I would like to know how to detect the OS by using C++.

    Thanks for help.

    Re: OS detection

    There's no standard function that does that. In some cases, you can use
    getenv() to retrieve an environment variable that stores the current
    OS's name and version. In other cases, you can use a compile-time macro,
    e.g.,
    #ifdef SOLARIS
    cout<<"Using Solaris";
    #endif
