    Application Object & Session Object

    Hi everybody,

I am a new entry in this world of ASP. Trying to know how does the Application
and Session Object Work. I read through books but still am not clear about
them. I want to know where can we use them. Can anybody explain in detail
    and simple words please.

    Thanks,
    RK

Re: Application Object & Session Object

the application object is a collection object, it contains (can contain if
you put the values into it) global variables (and objects) for all visitors
to the web site. if you have an application variable called thisvalue

    application("thisvalue") = 2

All users can see that thisvalue is 2 and change it if your code permits
    this.

the session object is a collection object, it contains (can contain if you
put the values into it) session (user) specific variables (and objects) for
EACH visitor to the web site.

if you have a session variable called thisvalue

    application("thisvalue") = 2

Only the owner of that session can see that thisvalue is 2 and change it if
    your code permits this.

Each unique user gets their own session collection, there is only one
    application collection

    Regards
