hi i have a question is it possible withou jni to write an application thats show informations about a hardware device ?

i want to try to write an network monitor in java
but i have no idea and experience with programming on hardware devices

is it possible in java ???

yes, but it will rely on a program written in native code to supply the information

it is not JNI, but more like reading and parsing the output of, e.g. ipconfig to get information about the ethernet adapter...
