Q re installing several SQL version?
just like to know if its safe to install several version of SQL with different instance like install MS SQL 2000, MS SQL 2005 and MS SQL 2008?
i have projects that requires me to use several types of SQL database and now im considering install several versions? (current i have MSSQL 2000 and MSSQL2005express) Also there are each version have several kinds like express, standard, professional... are they also a factor in determining if they are compatible with each other? is there like a table or list that shows the compatibility between version and types? thx in advance

If I were going to use all three versions, I would have them installed on different network file servers. That would avoid any potential "stepping on each other" problems as well as spread the network disk space usage around.
