I may need to upgrade my computer and I have several questions regarding Windows 7 (assuming someone has had a chance to actually use this OS):
1) Can a VB6 application be installed on Win 7 if the installation file was developed using Visual Studio Installer (msi file) if VB6 is not installed on the machine? 2) Will VB6 install and work under Win 7? 3) Will Visual Studio Installer work under Win 7? 4) Any other incompatabilities or othe concerns regarding developing and/or using applications developed using VB6? I understand that there were some issues or difficulties under Vista, but Win 7 is supposed to be much better. Also, Win 7 Pro can operate in XP mode which may work better for VB6. I would consider conversion to .NET, but that would be very expensive to upgrade a number of 3rd-party tools and to re-write the application which has about 200,000 lines of code and I would like to squeeze an additional few years out of the application.
