Saving MS Office documents from Internet Explorer?

    hi,

How to save Ms office (.doc, .xls, .ppt) documents from Internet explorer?
I opened word document from this location on the internet. "http://myserver/doc1.doc".
I did some changes, How to save this document on to server. IE prompts
a window to save this document, if you say yes, then it fires open dialog
    window.

I wanna save opened doc, directly onto server.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheekoti,
    Not directly possible I'm afraid...
You read the document via HTTP , but it won't write back that way...
You must have a drive mapped on the webserver / some shared area on the network
    to achieve this.

You get the file save performed locally (by the user) and then get them to
    upload it...

Otherwise (big job) create a word viewing activeX component which saves back
    for you
