    Excel updating problem

    Firstly I wish a nice christmas everyone,

    My problem is a about excel updating.
    I have VB6 and a excel file. I just want to add a new row to this excel sheet's available first row. Like this;

    A.....B.....C
    -----------------
    123...aaa...jjj
    124...999...kkk
    125...555...whatever...

    I'm trying to add a new row that start with 126 and goes with sth like in example.
    I took my sheet in a recordset.

    First I thought I must find the last line. I must find the value "125" but when I say rcset.movelast it caused an error (80040e24' Rowset does not support fetching backward)

    I really need some help. Plz help me...
    Just show me the way, or an example code will be great. Thanks...

    You don't need to find the last row. Just use AddNew (which is optional in ADO) and Update. Also, open your Recordset with a CursorType other than forward-only (which is the default).

    You can find an example at the below link. Also make sure you're using the latest Jet service pack as the article specifies.
