It is harder to get the same results in C# as you can in VB.Net. Thus, fewer
programmers will become truly proficient in it.

That, and the general prejudice against VB programmers, will drive up the
    wages for C# programmers.

So do you want to say that C# and VB are same but VB is easier or that C#
is better than VB. And one guy writed in www.cplusplus.com forum that M$
want to kill VB with other language and that language is C#. Is it true and
    why?
And do you think that C# will kill Visual Basic?
    Thanks

MS was founded on Basic compilers. It is never going to give them up.

    > And do you think that C# will kill Visual Basic?

C# is too annoying for most users. Case sensitivity alone is enough to drive
    people to VB.

That's not really true now is it? I think it depends on which syntax you
are more comfortable with. So far, I've found it easier to get results in
    C# than VB.Net. But I happen to prefer the C syntax....always have. I'm
not a C snob either. I've beens using variations of C/C and Visual Basic in
tandem for every project I've worked on for the past 8 or nine years.

Unfortunately there are reasons for the "general prejudice" against VB
programmers. It's really hard to find GOOD VB programmers.....it's really
easy to find people that got tired of their day job...bought a copy of
VB....developed a few things (and many bad habits)....and then call
themselves programmers. I'm not meaning to insult anyone, it's just a fact.

It doesn't mean that one is great and the other is less. C# is having more
features that VB.net. also vb prgramming is flexible,it's not mean that c#
    is a tougher one.it's good.
we have to use this newly coming c# widely in our applications. certain
languages have some features only. in the same sense, vb has some constaints.
the c# is overcoming those areas.
hence c# is having good role.

I think your second commit supports the idea.

Also, it's not just the Syntax but the 'Syntactic Sugar' like WithEvents.
With VB (and to a lesser extend VB.Net) it's easier to pretend you know what
your doing. With C# you have to do more things manually, thus you can't
    pretend as long.

I know that all too well, which is why I think C# programmers will have a
    higher pay (at least initially).

I wouldn't go that far. Different features certainly, but not more. VB has
stuff that makes it better inside the framework, like WithEvents and
implicit late binding. While C# has better facilities for talking to legacy
    code with pointers.

Ack my first post just got sent accidently *grumble* before I had a chance
    to type anything.

Anyways, you clearly don't really know that much about the guidelines
originally used when forming Java, here's a hint, sophistication was on the
list of things to cut. Simplicity was a *big* focus for them.

As to C# vs Java, I have a background with C++ and later Java prior to
having a chance to examine C#, and I personally consider C# to be better
    than Java.

The thing is, when it comes to language advocacy, one person's positive is
another's negative. So while you may prefer Java, I prefer C#.

I don't think that either can clearly be called superior to the other. Any
more than you can get an unbiased answer to the questions which is better
US-English or UK-English spelling choices of words?

Well since it's according to You and Ellison, i'll present you a question
that uses these 2 characters. If this statement turns out to be nothing more
than a marketing slogan, a PR-humor of sort, just like "I invented
    internet."...

Well i have a pretty good idea what Ellison with his millions in a bank and
a world known name will do.

But i wonder what you with your arrogance but not much else would end up
    doing?
