    .NET Remoting vs. Web Services

Is it safe to say that one would usually use Remoting when working with two
..NET objects communicating from remote server. Then is it safe to say one
would use Web Services when dealing with the possibility of non .NET objects
    communicating from remote server.

I am trying to get a better understanding of what to use when and what the
    advantages and disadvantages are.

    Thanks.

Re: .NET Remoting vs. Web Services

That is a generalization, but it's a reasonable one.
