    thanks headen ... I already have a server just wanna the firewall and the lowest plan available for a firewall is 100$/moth in checkpoint ... I mean there is other plans too more than 100$$ .. so i was just wondering if there is another company as good as checkpoint and that can offer a firewall for a web server [DEDICATED] .. thanks !

    My company but we can't spend 100$/month it's too much for us right now ... looking forward to upgreat .

    FYI: personally for my PC I use the redhat built-in firewall and claimAV as anti-virus ... I think those are safe enough ... but for the server this is not secure enough I think.

    Actually, you don't need to reinstall the red Hat.I will rather use openbsd as gateway or router.

    I hope this help.

    Thanks Peter but could you please explain to me more how can I use it like a gateway ? I don't get your idea very well ... by the way the server is dedicated as I mentioned before so I'm not neither an ISP nor a web hosting company for example ... so should I rent another server .. or what exactly should I do ?
    Thanks..

    OMG of course you didn't meant renting anything like that .. did you ? because the firewall will be much more cheaper like that !

    You can arrange network like this.

    Modem->OpenBSD Firewall->Web Server.

    I hope this help.

    me too

    Thanks peter but if you mean renting another server then I don't think that I'm going to do that ... the empty server price is from $200 / month when the firewall is only $90 .. I have also bought a backup server now for $250/moth so it's very heavy for us now to spend more .. however I think the ideal solution is to wait as we grow up and buy this checkpoint better . at least the built-in iptables in redhat are workin good now and no big risk I kan see nowadays ...
