creating interactive calendar using java applet

I am quite confused on how to create interactive calender using java apple for my website, I wanted to know is it simple using it or should I use sumfing else, if so please if you can help

But, before I look around for you, what do you mean by "interactive" calendar?

How is this calendar supposed to interact with the users?

by interactive calendar I mean that the clients will be able to view and edit their appointments and etc.
