    Access remote machine in the network

    Hi there!

    I want to access a remote machine within my network using C#. Also, I want
    to determine the processes running on that remote machine.

    Can someone tell me how can I accomplish this?. I would be very grateful

    thanx,
    irfan

    I have the same question. I have been searching all over the place for info
    on accessing remote machines and extracting data from applications running
    on remote machine. if you find solution to this problem, can you email me
    at benaam4@hotmail.com.

    Thanks very much.

    The Remoting technology in .NET would work out good for this. See:

    hello there to all of you reading this!!

    well, I've found an excellent article at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ofservices.asp

    Yes, as the MVP said, we can as well use .NET Remoting, but I'm new to this
    topic. I have to followup.

    Meanwhile, one can use, System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController. This would
    help us in accessing/determining the available services and device drivers
    on any particular machine within the network. Heres' some code

    I have added a reference to System.ServiceProcess.dll in my project.
    System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController[] sers = ServiceController.GetServices("machinename
    you want to access");

    lateron you can view the list of services using
    sers[index].DisplayName.

    you can as well determine the status of a particular service on that machine
    by using
    sers[index].Status.ToString()

    I hope this would be helpful, but still have to jumpoff onto .NET remoting.
    bye!
