I know how to assign a password to a PDF file thru Adobe Acrobat. I want
to assign a password to a PDF file thru VB Code
Can any one help me?

I suspect the reason for this is the same reason a thread from 11/20/2000 got its very first response in 2008 and the response was asking the same question.

In other words, I do not believe that you can.

Have you checked with ADOBE. Go to their web page, use their contacts page to ask how to do this.
Back in 2000 I worked for a printing company. We created an online application where employees of a certin customer could come and order their business cards. They were allowed many different options. The final result was a PDF File that was used as the art work for the final printing.
We did this by joining ADOBE's developer program. There was a fee the company had to pay; but you received a set of DLL's, documentation, and Sample code in various languages, including Visual Basic.
These DLL's allowed you to do anything you wanted, from creating new, to editing old PDF Files. I am sure if there is a password feature it would be included in these DLL's.
