Question A little help getting started...

Where to start? I'm working on putting together an online school. I need to set up logins/saved class data/etc. Can you suggest on what I should start with. Do I go with MySQL, Access, or MSSQL? Do I use Javascript or stick with only ASP.NET? Where do I begin? I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 to create my web site, but I also have Flash and Visual Web Development 2005... Thanks for any direction you can give me.

Just to get you started - go to Microsoft's Office website and look for downloadable templates for Access, I beleive they have one for a school database. With this you can tinker with it, make changes, get an Idea of what you want for your website.
Basically use Access as a prototyping tool. Once you know exactly what you want, it will make it much easier to recreate it as a web based application.
If you are going to use this online, I suggest you use a bigger database engine than Access, something like SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
If you have worked a lot with Access then you will probably feel more comfortable with SQL Server.

What kind of a budget do you have for putting this together?

Is this for a specific client, or are you making something that you hope to eventually sell?
