installing SQL server 2000 - please help

    Hi,

I've installed Windows 2000 Professional Edition in my box. Now I want to
install SQL Server 2000. But I read some where that SQL Server 2000 doesn't
support the professional edition of win 2000. Is it true? can some one advise
    me on this?

    Thanks,
    Harsha

Not at all true. I have SQL 2000 Desktop Edition on my machine @ home and
I run W2K Pro. I have SQL7 on my work machine but am soon going to set up
a SQL2K server and I'm sure that it will work just fine. The only problems
I've encountered with SQL2000 is with WindowsME. You may want to get a book
that specifically talks about installing SQL 2000 such as "Professional SQL
Server 2000 Database Design" by Wrox just help get through the install. The
MS documentation is close to useless.
