SQL Server 7 SP2 Memory Usage
We are having trouble with the memory usage within SQL Server 7. We manage
a distributed system with several remote SQL Server databases. For all of
these SQL Server appears to not be releasing memory after using it. It receives
an allocation of 300 MB, but if services are not shut down twice a day it
runs out of memory. This is particularly baffling because the entire databases
are 60-80MB extracted into flat text and I doubt there is over 1MB in data
updates/inserts in a given day. Is there some tuning operation that I'm
missing?
