msn virus

hi, im gettin a lot of problems wiht a msn virus basically it randomly sends a message saying" hey i get my msn names from (link)" and other versions all containing the same link. and some reaons if i get into mass convos it goes hyper and wont stop sending the message long enough for me to even type anything.
im running msn 7.5, and all my antivirus and spyware dont recognise it. im using spybot and mcaffe.

if you know of a step by step of how to kill the thing please tell me.

first upgreat the msn ...
now this is not a virus but things called "AdWare" ... maybe your mcaffee is not an anti-spy version .. and I don't know anything about spybot (not a famous software maybe) ..
anyway this thread usually appear under the following conditions:
1- installed third-party attached to the msn >> uninstall it
2- start-up service that monitor the msn activity >> end task it
3- spyware that changed the execute command to open itself when clicking on the msn icon instead of the msn itsefl : you need a critical registry reparations and I don't recommend doing that yourself if you r not very experienced.

and as usually the best,clean and faster solution is to re-install a new windows fresh coopy ! .. and use a better anti-virus .. personally i don't prefere mcafe !

I've never had an issue with McAfee.

lol it's a secret ..

ZoneAlarm security suite ... I like it a lot ... i figured some problems with Mcafee which come pre-installed in my gateway laptop and I can see it's not providing me the security control level and efficiency that zonealarm gives to me. beside that all , nothing is better than ZoneAlarm firewall it's very strong and nobody can challenge it .. and it's free by the way ..
now for the OP .. FYI .. if you can't open the taskmanger due to this virus please read my post here :

I checked out the ZoneAlarm site (had not heard of this product before) and the Suite does not appear to be free.

Peter: I think it's just an adware ... so I don't get how a proxy can change anything ? .. just he should protect himself from the beginning that's maybe better at all cases ...

Hack: I was talking about the firewall .. it's FREE .. but of course the anti-virus isn't ... and yes I think it's more expensive than most known anti-viruses .. but really it worth (10 bucks more something like that) [at least that's what I think about it personally].

It's a business ... if you try the firewall and see how the performance you got .. you would buy the security suite like I did !

BTW: I haven't mentioned that's my company is using this firewall .. it's just for my home PC and laptop and my brother .. finally all my family use it .. at my company we use linux the ultimate
