Adobe GoLive for Web Authoring

I am currently using Allaire Homesite, which is what my department uses. My
department also creates a "look and feel" in Photoshop before implementing
in HTML. After laying it all out in Photoshop, they can chop it up into graphics
to place in the HTML docs. I use FrontPage at home, but want to switch to
something new, because I want tighter control and better features. I'm too
advanced for FrontPage, but a little uneasy about venturing out into new
programs, like Adobe GoLive.

Does anyone use Adobe GoLive for building and managing sites? If so, what
other programs have you used and how do they compare? How did you learn to
use it? How well did you already know Photoshop before you used Adobe GoLive?

You should try MAcromedia Dreamweaver - the most powerfull thing for web-design.
I am working with it already 2 years and the new version of it 4.0
is really something special. I do not thing that it is worth to change from
Frontpage to GoLive passing by Dreamweaver

I have to agree with the previous response. Dreamweaver is the best to use
for web development. Also if you are use to making the pages in an image
editor first and then going to an web editor I still recommand Dreamweaver
with Fireworks. They work well with each other as you can develope the look
in Fireworks and then slice it up for actual web. Good Luck!
