NetMeeting Help File on Web Site
We have NetMeeting 3.01 embedded in our web site but I have been unable to
figure out how to link NetMeeting's Help System to this web page without
having the user download it each time they need to use it. Is there a web
version of this help system that can be linked to the web page that we have
NetMeeting embedded?

Re: NetMeeting Help File on Web Site
I am not sure what "help system" you are referring to.
By being embedded in you website I assume that means an activex component in
a web page oe ?

Re: NetMeeting Help File on Web Site
Yes, it is placed on a web page using the activex component. The help file
I am talking about is the NetMeeting Help file that can be accessed by the
stand alone version from the drop-down menu at the top of NetMeeting. It
is the *.chm file. I have been unable to find a way to include that on my
web page that does not require the user to first download it to their pc.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have more questions.
Thanks.

Well since to have the activex embedded in the web page requires NM to be
installed on the user's computer -- isn't the help file already there on the
users's computer and accesible in the normal way from the help menu item?

Re: NetMeeting Help File on Web Site
Yes, the help file is on the user's pc but the help menu item is not included
in the activex component. I was trying to avoid trying to set my web app
to attempt to locate the help file that is already installed on the users
pc becuase depending on which OS they are using depends on where it will
be located. I was hopin there was a way to add it to the web page as a WebHelp
application.

Either you use the one already on the local machine ( admittedly to use it
in NM you must undock the NM program and click on the help function) or you
link to it from your website as a .chm file and view in the browser ( I
guess that should work -- I haven't really tried though -- that will
download it as it would any browser viewable file) -- I can't think of any
other way.
The activex component is very limited.

Re: NetMeeting Help File on Web Site
Hi, I'm planning to deploy netmeeting on my corporation and I'd like you to
send some docs related with this issue, such "how to" docs or whatever.
I'd be so grateful if you send this to me.
