The 2000 edition

I bought your book (SQL 7) a year ago and read it several times. I would like
to thank you for sharing your know-how and know-why.

Could you give a brief overview of the differences betweent the version 2000
and the previous version of your book.

The simple rendition is "About 200 extra pages..."

Of course, it's not quite that simple. Basically, everything has been
updated. The only chapter that is essentially verbatim the same is the
Cursors chapter.

Content is added for BEFORE triggers as well as triggers on views
Add content for Indexed Views
Add content for CASCADE actions
The DTS/BCP chapter is split. The DTS designer content is greatly expanding
on.
Add two XML chapters, a UDF chapter, another chapter on DTS (programming
this time), and a chapter on WMI (which is going to replace DMO after 2000).

Also add adjustments for all sorts of "little" (though often VERY important)
things - such as the new functions to deal with scope issues on IDENTITY
values.

This is just a synopsis.
