Vitual Private Network
Has anyone had any success creating a virtual private network over the
Internet? I would like to connect two small networks that both have
fast access to the Internet. I'm more than willing to do my own
research on this but I can't find a good resource on this subject.
A few questions I have are:
Is the another name for a VPN?
Does anyone know a resource for this on the net?
Is a static IP address on both ends a must?
Is 'blowfish' encryption strong enough to protect information traveling
through the net?
Does it create any network traffic that ISPs would find 'suspicious'?
(currently I use a Linux server to share personal cable access to our
internal network. it runs a caching DNS, telnet, FTP, etc and our ISP
doesn't seem to mind)
Thanks

Joel,
In your letter you asking:
- Is 'blowfish' encryption strong enough to protect information traveling
through the net?
During last contest on encryption key breaking, 56 bit DES was decrypted
in 2 days and a few hours of 'brute force' calculation method using pretty
mild resources. Which one is tougher, 'blowfish' or DES?
