One Stop VB Search Engine, Updated!

Get VB Answers has been updated and almost doubled in size and scope! Get
VB Answers serves the developer community with specific Search Engines for
different VB topics. Get VB Answers straight from the Wizards, the MVPs,
the Old Wise Men and Women, Gurus and Masters of the VB community. The
referenced sites (many thousands of pages!) are the best on the net, and
    for
the first time you can search in them all at once.

    Gil,

    So from 1K to 2K?

Exclude old... Zane and Kathleen or would that be Karl and Nancy? And of
course Phil and a whole bunch else would have to be included... I assume
    this is the case?

Right... marvelous... so where is it?

Gil: "For the first time?" What about codehound.com, searchvb.com and
    DevX.com?

    <shameless plug>
DevX, by the way, crawls over 50 of the top technical Web sites
(you can see a complete list at
    http://www.devx.com/free/search/search.asp ) and allows you
to search them all at once. If there are sites you think we should
add to this list (I mean third-party sites you find useful, not your
own site ;-), feel free to drop me a line at pweber@devx.com.

Thanks guys for the fun and great humor ;~)

    > So from 1K to 2K?

As I use a third party spider to build the indexes I don't have the info
upfront but the whole index contains many thousands of pages, and the users
report excellent results with finding answers to their toughest VB problems.

Let me know what you think about Zane and Kathleen's VB knowledge, Mort,
    will you please?

Sure, all have their strengths and weaknesses. CodeHound and SearchVB are
very large and index many sites, advanced and beginner, original and cut'n'paste
so that your search results might contain a lot of stuff which is less then
usefull. Get VB Answers searches in 17 sites which have original and top
notch content. You are not inundated by pages upon pages of the same ideas
republished in all the Me Too sites.

I'll be the first to call DevX one of the premier VB sites out there. But
searching tends to bring back Prmier Club stuff all the time and Product
    Reviews...

Try searching for the term "Registry" on my site at
    http://www.visual-basic-solutions.co...ers/search.htm

What you will get on the first page are at least four different ways of dealing
with the registry from within VB, written by four great VB authorities, with
    different levels of complexity.

Try the same search at DevX and you will need to dig further to get at the
great content on the DevX and other sites.

Sorry to go on and on... I hope you will all come and see for yourself what
    all the fuss is about!

Gil: I didn't mean to disparage your site with my previous post, I'm sure
it's excellent. I merely disagreed with your claim that your site is the
    first of its kind.

Have you done a search on DevX within the past two weeks? We recently rolled
out a completely new search engine which separates results by content area,
so results from third-party sites are displayed separately from DevX
content, including Premier Club articles and product reviews. If you prefer,
you can search *only* third-party VB sites. We've moved all source code
outside the Premier Club, so code from all of FTP's journals is now
available free of charge. Try it! I think you'll be impressed.
