    3rd party controls

Is there a site on the web that does a consumer reports type evaluation of
    3rd party products.
There are a bazillion grid controls available out there how do I decide which
one is the perfect one for me?

    I Second that.

Also I never thought there would be a day when I could say this, "The
documentation is amazing, it is very rich, with examples and source code."

    Wayne,
Having worked for APEX Software (now ComponentOne) I am a bit biased toward
True DBGrid Pro 7.0. However, I've been around long enough to know that
not one product meets all your needs in all situations. True DBGrid, because
of its versatility, is large in comparision to other controls. So if size
is a concern, then True DBGrid is probably not for you. I've work with Far
Point's Spread, which is geared more for SpreadSheet type development. Also
FlexGrid is still the best product for displaying merged data, although True
DBGrid is rapidly approaching FlexGrid's capabilities in this area.

I've not used many of the other smaller controls, because the development
I do is mostly for sight recognition and I need to be able to display data
in a manner that the user will recognize what it is when they view it, not
    read it thoroughly.

My best recommendation would be to pin point the features you need most often
and standardize on the control that best meets those needs. Then from there,
choose one or two additional controls that meet specific features that the
    first does not.

    HTH,
    Brent

BTW - those who posted "Use this one, cause I work for them"... how about
comparing your controls to others on the market, pin point your strengths
and weeknesses to those of the other controls. This gives you a solid foundation
to stand on, not just "'Cause I need the job security."
