    Ad-hoc query/reporting tool

I am trying to find an ad-hoc query/reporting tool that will allow the end
user to select table(s) and fields and build a query for them and then report
on it. Everything I have looked at is more for the developer and not as an
add-on. We do have Crystal Reports 8 and, if necessary, we will roll our
own. But we are trying to avoid that headache if possible.

    Hello,

Take a look at www.korzh.com on ActiveQuery. It works good for me !

I too am faced with the same problem. Except we want an ad hoc query and report
tool that is web based so our user's can create their own reports. I ran
across a tool called Cognos Query. Might be worth looking at. I have just
started researching myself so I don't know if this will be beneficial or
    not.
