How to check if TCP installed

Does anyone know how to check if the TCP/IP protocol is installed on a users
    machine?

Also, is there a way to find out if the machine is running DHCP?

I have looked around in the registry and did find a key that had the IP address
    for my machine:

    MyComputer\HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\NetTrans\0000

Thanks for any responses. Michael Bourns.

What I mean is to check if the protocol is installed on the users machine
programmatically, without having the user go to the network properties applet.
    Tnanks again.
