Child form sending info to parent

What's the best way to use a form as a "pick list" then send the selection back to the parent form?

My users need to pick from REALLY big tables for Beg/End parameters so regular combo boxes are out (take too long to load).

Old code used global var's and it's a mess!

    Thanks

I don't have an alternative for the large table problem, but for the global variable issue, you can use property Let procedures in the parent form instead. The child form would assign a value to a property as oppposed to a global variable, and the parent form would save the value of the variable at form-level scope.

A simple way to return a value?

That's a good way to avoid global variables, but I just can't believe that this isn't a problem for everyone else trying to use a form to select information. What's the "normal" way to encapsulate the child form and just return the wanted information?
