Emulating the timer function of VB in excel

I managed to get my auto open macro working from earlier. I know am trying
to code a timer function into an excel spreadsheet. I know how to in VB
itself using the timer button but not in excel's VB (no timer button in excel!).
I'm wanting to repeat a macro every minute. I tried the wait command but
it locks up my worksheet, something i'm trying to avoid doing.

If anyone knows how to emulate the VB timer, please let me know i'm desperate....

    Thanks
    Robbie

You could try Excel's OnTime method, but it's not very powerful and a bit
flaky (you have to keep your own track of what timers you have running, for
example, and they tend to get lost). I usually use the CCRP's high
performance timer objects which are free from http://www.mvps.org/ccrp/

    Thanks for trying to help,
I actually managed to get it working just after I posted by using a timer
    function.
