This is a task I am facing.

I will be receiving files via FTP. Before I process the file, I need to virus
scan it. If the file is infected, I need to log it in a DB, delete the file
and E-Mail the sender. If the file is not infected, I need to log it, send
an E-Mail to the sender and process the file further.

I would like to find out if there is a product that would let me programmatically
scan a file for viruses. Something like an ActiveX control or COM object.

Does McAffe or Norton have something like that?
