Um.. most movie formats (Certainly the two you listed) are capable of
containing audio streams as well as video.
Have a look at Ray's site for help on doing work with AVI's in VB over at
    Http://www.shrinkwrapvb.com/
    Hope this helps,

    Mike

Thanks very much Mike, i'm reading it.

    I think i explained myself bad(as always).
The thing i wanna end up with are a video format where the audio part is
a external wave file and not embedded in the video file(that means two separate
    filetypes, sound/video ).

I was thinking of adding "sync shunks" (not invented yet) in the wave file
to sync the movie file part.

(the reason is that the sound part "must" be in native wave format in the
    future)

Is this method done i the real world before?

    any comments please

Not to my knowledge however there are video formats that do similar things
for instance DVD's often have subtitles built in that are triggered at
certain parts in the movie. An AVI is made up of streams and I think you
can create your own which could be to tell your app to play a re-sync to a
part in the wave clip every keyframe (Once every few seconds) or something,
however Ray's the one to ask about this or at least you'll need to do some
research into the format, www.wotsit.org would be a good place to start then
of course the invaluable www.google.com after that.
    Hope this helps,

    Mike
