    VB & Excel Database

I'm creating a VB front end for an Excel database. I've got my Data1 object
placed on my form and have got its Connect property set to "Excel 8.0" and
its DatabaseName property pointed to my Excel file. But, when I go to select
the RecordSource property I get the following error:

    "Couldn't find installable ISAM"

How do I fix this? I can't find anything on the MS website to help. I've
tried adding the ISAM stuff to the vb.ini file, but that didn't help.

    Byron,

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think you've forgotten to include an object
in the project that allows you to make the connection.

    OH my eyes!

Excel is NOT a database, never was, never will be. It can be a datasource,
but not a database. Excel is a spreadsheet, please do not confuse the two.

In order to use Excel as a datasource, you need to include the proper reference
    in your project.
