Delphi 6 Personal available for Download
Hey, all -
Just wanted to drop by and let you all know that we've finally gone live
with our Delphi Personal download - its available free from our website at
www.borland.com/delphi (right under the product tour). If you've ever been
curious about giving Delphi a shot, here's your opportunity. We also have a
60-day free trial of the Enterprise version available, in case you want to
investigate the higher-end features of Delphi as well.
Happy programming -

Too bad the registration page is broken. Nice way to introduce a new
product!

Describe the error to me - I'm 23% done downloading mine, didn't have any
issues. Pitch me an eMail and I'll see if I can get our web team to clear
it up if I can't describe a fix right off the bat.

Re: Delphi 6 Personal available for Download
Thomas...
Since you posted here....have Borland fixed the bug yet, whereby ActiveX
controls which imported fine in Delphi 5, no longer work in Delphi 6? I post
this here, since anyone on this forum looking at Delphi will inevitably want
to import and use their myriad control toolsets which they currently happily
use in VB6. I was not happy to see all the posts about ActiveX controls
being broken in Delphi 6....and am waiting to see whether their is an
aknowledged fix before continuing my investigations.

I haven't ... but I think I'll take a shot at going to some Delphi groups
and talking c# up. Hmm, however, last time I wandered over that way I got
kicked out, isn't that right Karl? That's what I seem to recall.

Re: Delphi 6 Personal available for Download
Seems we still have an open issue on PixTools controls and the DBGrid.ocx
file, but I'm not finding any open issues on importation of general ActiveX
controls. Which ActiveX controls were you referring to that worked in
Delphi 5 but don't in Delphi 6? I can probably look into the issue to
identify whether it was fixed easier with the library's brand name.

Ah, that sounds like it could have been it.
So *** is up with these Borland guys coming over here and trolling for
customers. That's about as tacky a move as I've ever seen.
Got a line on some Delphi groups? I think it's time to start pointing the
virtues of c# out to people over there.

Yeah, doing techsupport in a VB discussion group. Geesh.

Oh, I didn't know you work for Microsoft.
However, go ahead. I've found the Delphi guys really tolerant and less
paranoid towards someone who uses something else than Delphi.
