IE7 - what ms has to do.

i haven't heard a peep about ie7, so i put out my 2cents on what it should
    be like.

it should be build completely out of .net. this way it proves the .net
framework and clr are bug free enough to run a mission critical app on it.
plus it puts the CLR on client machines so its easier to distribute .net
    apps.

    just my 2 cents.

    What an absolutely fantastic idea!!!
Only one small drawback that I can see. Remember the brouhaha about using
COMCT 4.71 or 5??? Basically they originally only shipped with IE 4 and IE
5 (although later you could get redistributables for them) and people
accused MS and devs of making people "require" IE and there was a lot of
fuss and nonsense about it all. That could stir up the same kind of hornets
nest. But otherwise, FWIW, I think that's a great idea.

    Dave,

I wouldn't be surprised to see the .net framework showing up on IE CDs
anyway, even if they have to have some utility which uses the framework as
    justification. ;-)

You're probably right. But MS needing "justification" to put out the CLR???
