help on DV AVI files. (Ray Mercer's help pages doesn't work with DV files)

Hello,
I'm a novice in using VB, but i need some help to access data in DV AVI
files. I read the DV Data in the "AVI File Format Specification, Version
1.01" but all the structures and info about this files is "generic" and C
based, so its harder to me to manage it. (as hard as to understand my
english)...
I also found the "Video Capture Help Pages by Ray Mercer" but it plays about
VFW AVI files and the samples doesn't work with DV AVI files (in fact,
MainAVIHeader, AVIStreamHeader, and so are diferent from the VFW AVI files).
I would be peased if i could get something like Ray Mercer's Help Pages, but
focused in DV files.
Any one could help me?

As far as I have been able to determine, there is no help for VB available
for DV publically available at this time. I'd love to hear different too.

Tx Ray, i followed your instruccions and posted my doubts in this news. Was
glad to see that you're here as you promissed!!.

Please, confirm my doubts... In your pages you allways talk about VFWs APIs
:-) , i think that DV AVIs only works trhu C or DirectShow, doesn't it?

In that case, the only way to work with VB would be using DirectShow... ?¿

Where could i get some "sample" files about DirectShow? (you know... those
lovely pieces of soft to "cut & paste" functions and structures, as yours...
;-)

I try. but I am not here as much lately... I am in Tokyo every day this
week at a seminar sponsored by my company, but fortunately they have an
Internet connection...

DirectShow is the only way that *I* know of for handling DV AVIs on Windows.
There may be 3rd party tools.

As far as I know, yes.
