    OLE Timeout with Excel - Any work arounds?

    <REPOST>I just started on a project that several other developers have worked
    on.
    Unfortunately, they get the following error occasionally.
    'Microsoft Excel is waiting for OLE application'
    I read a doc from Microsoft that says you can do a Sleep loop, and keep checking
    to see if the app is available.
    Does anyone have any ideas on anything else? I am going to try the loop today
    if I can.
    The error does not cause Excel to hang, but it waits for user input, and
    since this is supposed to be a batch method, it defeats our whole purpose.

    Maybe you could describe what this application is doing, or post some code as to
    how Excel is being automated.

    You can let Excel keep working and prevent interruptions by the error messages by putting in this line:

    Application.DisplayAlerts = False
