    Maximum string length

Is there a limit on the size of a String besides available memory?

    From VB manual:

There are two kinds of strings: variable-length and fixed-length strings.

A variable-length string can contain up to approximately 2 billion (2^31)
    characters.

    A fixed-length string can contain 1 to approximately 64K (2^16) characters.

InStr complains if its Start parameter is greater than &h3fffffff, at
least on my machine, so perhaps the limit is 2GB, or 1G characters,
since each character soaks up two bytes in VB-32 because of Unicode.
