    Path Finding...

    Hi everyone,

    I'm currently writing an application for Web Media.

    Private Sub Command1_Click()
    x = Shell("C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\WMPLAYER.EXE http://www.domain.com/today.asf",
    1)
    End Sub

    In above code path to WMPLAYER.EXE was given as C:\Program Files\Windows
    Media Player.

    Is there a way to find WMPLAYER.EXE into the end user's workstations?

    Thx, JeZZ

    There are general ways to search for files, using Dir$ or
    FindFirstFile, but with wmplayer.exe, you have it easy. If
    it's installed, there will be a corresponding registry value
    that tells you where. It's stored at:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ap
    p Paths\wmplayer.exe
